Achieving sustainable water conservation with business customers

This paper will explore the innovative approach Sydney Water has developed for working with business customers to incorporate water efficiency into their existing management systems.Rather than looking for purely technical solutions,the approach aims to build co-operative partnerships with business customers so that Sydney Water and the customer work together towards sustainable reductions in water consumption,reduce customers' costs and increase their profile as an environmentally responsible business.The paper will explain the program methodology and tools that address water management as a business management issue,rather than only a technical engineering issue.It will explain how Sydney Water provides customers with a structured framework to evaluate their current water management practices and policies,and identify and prioritise actions for improvement.
