Pilot Co. has adopted a different approach than some other energymarketers building out the U.S. electric vehicle charging system. Instead offocusing on areas with heavy EV adoption, the travel center company plansto start with the “most difficult places” as it establishes charging corridorsbetween urban areas to promote longer-distance travel with EVs.Many fuel marketers have said it is hard to justify making thesubstantial investment in EV chargers where there is low EV adoption.They are adding chargers beginning with locations where they expect tosee the most use.
