The genus Tetrix was erected by Latreille in 1802 and currently includes 169 species and subspecies, the type species is Tetrix subulata (Linnaeus, 1758) = Gryllus (Bulla) subulatus Linnaeus, 1758 (Cigliano et al, 2022), mainly distributed in Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and North America (Rehn, 1952; Harz, 1975; Shishodia, 1991; Liang & Zheng, 1998; Jiang & Zheng, 1998; Zheng, 2005; Deng et al., 2007, 2008; Deng, 2016; Gao et al., 2022). During identifying the Tetrigidae specimens collected from Zhejiang, China in 2015, a new species of the genus Tetrix Latreille, 1802, i.e. Tetrix simingshanensis sp. nov is described below. The type specimens are deposited in the School of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding, China.
