摘要

Common causes of vocal fold paralysis (VFP) include traumaor iatrogenic injury, malignancy, and neurogenic conditions.1Other uncommon etiologies include a large intrathyroidal calcificationresulting from radioactive iodine ablation (RAI).2Unilateral VFP can result in hoarseness and dysphagia, whilebilateral VFP can result in respiratory distress due to narrowingof the airway at the glottis.
