The Hand Off: Preparing Your Small Business for Succession

Back in the June 2018 issue of Mushroom News, we addressed the issue of farm succession, and the issues surrounding handing off farm operations to family members. In many instances, and particularly in the case of small business, there is often no family to hand a business to, as is the case with many businesses that supply mushroom farms. In this issue, we provide an overview of succession planning when transferring a business to a family member is not an option.
