Indonesia has issued regulations to oversee carbon capture and storage, as well as carbon capture, utilization and storage in upstream oil and gas business activities, as part of efforts to decarbonize the extraction industry and help boost hydrocarbon production, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said late March 10. The regulations will govern the use of Indonesia's geological formations to store carbon emissions permanently through the use of CCS/CCUS technology and support the government's climate change targets under the Paris Agreement, the ministry said in the statement.
