? 2022 The Combustion InstituteThis corrigendum corrects the definition of the preignition criterion stated on page 184. It should read: “By our observation, whenever Da* = τchar /τign 0.0005), the chemical process is dominant and homogeneous ignition is observed.” Given this revised definition, the demarcation of blue vertical line in the right plot of Figure 11 should be “τchar /τign < 0.0005”. The revised figure is given below.
