摘要

Australia's 7 billion dollar a year horticultural industry is threatened by the Qfly (Bactrocera tryoni). Citrus produces close to 700,000 tonnes each year (75% oranges, 20% mandarins and 5% lemon/limes/grapefruit) and is Australia's largest fresh fruit export, with annual exports worth 200 million dollar. But unfortunately this valuable crop is also a favoured host of Qfly. In addition to Qfly's direct damage to such crops, its presence leads to significant restrictions on the access of Australian fruit and vegetables to domestic and international markets.
