Injury Prevention and Public Health: practical knowledge, skills and strategies

The content and style of this publication, written by and for Americans, comes hard on the heels of an Australian and New Zealand publication.The differing purpose and target of these publications reflect greatly on the place and profile of the discipline in the two regions. Public health practitioners and researchers working for the prevention of injury in the US are further advanced in problem recognition and management, more organised and far better supported than is the case in Australia and New Zealand. Yet both these editions provide important information about how to be an effective agent in reducing the incidence of trauma, both accidental and intentional, in our community.
