Railways' proposal for an LRT system for Auckland uses the very latest in mass transit technology to remedy the transport problems of New Zealand's largest city. In preparing its proposal, the Corporation used consultants who have been involved in the development of similar LRT networks throughout the world, in cities with populations of half a million and more, with networks that are tried and proven. The LRT system proposed for Auckland will bring Auckland together while easing traffic congestion and breathing new life into the central business district.
