Still providing a strong YTD shipping performance, the pressure sector is in that summer slump where domestic welded shipments, which are mostly light to medium duty boiler pipes, have seen their off-season maintenance requirements ship for the upgrade/repair season. On the other side, import seamless, the main supply source of projects or major upgrades at higher pressure facilities - chemical, refining and power generation - are now slowing as those maintenance and upgrade activities wrap up. Assuming economic activity holds up, this is likely to be a solid year for pressure pipe.
