Citrus Gall Wasp:a serious new pest in southern citrus regions

Citrus gall wasp (CGW) has recently established itself in the southern citrus growing regions of Australia. If uncontrolled, it can cause major problems to orchardists with infected trees reducing their vigour, fruit size and yield. In some cases it can even cause tree death. September-October is the time when CGW emerges and growers should be on the lookout if their trees are infested. NSW DPI citrus development officer, Steven Falivene explains.
