ARA coal stocks fall to 18-week low

Coal stocks at the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) transhippment hub dropped to the lowest since the week to 12 June, as muted arrivals ofset softer coal-fred generation in the region. Thermal coal inventories at Rotterdam’s EMO and EBS terminals fell by 100,000t and 5,000t, respectively, on the week to 3.8mn t and 125,000t. Likewise, coal stocks at OBA in Amsterdam dropped by 50,000t from a week earlier to 1.85mn t. Only Ovet stocks at Vlissingen rose, gaining 90,000t to 470,000t from the previous week.
