THE BRATASIUK FAMILY, of Clarendon Hills, based in the Adelaide foothills behind McLaren Vale, believes wine is made in the vineyard. They are one of Australia's first advocates of single vineyard wines, dedicated to minimal intervention in tlte vineyard and winery, and have all but hewn from rock their first wine to be created solely for the Australian market.The Domaine Clarendon Syrah 2009 is the latest offering from winemaker Roman Bratasiuk, whose reputation and wines are perhaps more well-known innong consumers overseas than at home in Australia.
