Three New England states said Wednesday that they have agreed to coordinate on the selection of bids for wind power projects in the region in a move to push back against rising costs. The energy departments of Connecticut,Massachusetts and Rhode Island signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) through which”the three states will together seek multistate offshore wind proposals that would expand benefi ts for the region, capture cost reductions by developing projects at scale, and develop into viable projects.”The states said they are soliciting a combined 6,000 megawatts in offshore wind power capacity, with selections dependent on the states’individual cost and benefi t assessments.
