Bulgaria and Hungary have agreed on LNG cooperation,including joint purchase of the supercooled gas,though the two countries'attitudes toward Russian gas and LNG appears to differ.The two countries’state natural gas importers,Bulgargaz and MVM CEEnergy,on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding(MOU)and cooperation for the supply and trade of LNG in central and eastern Europe,a region traditionally reliant on Russian gas butmoving on with diversifi cation of import sources by tapping LNG and Caspian pipeline gas.Joint purchases of LNG at the AggregateEU platform are also planned under the three-year non-binding MOU,Bulgargaz said.Anyform of cooperation under the MOU will be in accordance with EU competition rules,Bulgargaz CEO Denitsa Zlateva was quoted assaying.
