Bioluminescence is probably one of the most intriguing phenomena in modern-day physics. Little had we known about its scientific marvel in our childhood when we were fascinated by a shining "Jugnoo " a light-producing organism. This paper thus tries to explore the physics of the dynamics of electrons at atomic and molecular scale which leads to the phenomena of bioluminescence. Along with this, a brief part of the paper also discusses the application of bioluminescence to recognize the versatility of the phenomena and prospects in this field.
