NORTH Asia's thirst for gas increased in 2021 as it continued to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, according to new data from Australian consultancy EnergyQuest. According to data released by EnergyQuest on Wednesday, liquefied natural gas imports to North Asia increased in 2021 to a total of 220 million tonnes, up 10.1% on the prior year. Last year saw Japan lose its mantle as the world's top importer of LNG, with China's imports growing by 18.5%, to 79.9 million tonnes.
