There are few major mining companies which can celebrate a centenary of operation but Canada's Teck Resources is proudly one of those. Christopher said Teck had 13 business interests in Canada, the US, Chile and Peru, and was the largest producer of steelmak-ing coal in North America. Teck is also the second largest seaborne producer of coal in the world, and is among the world's largest miners of zinc. The company is also a substantial copper producer, with output in 2012 at 375,000t More recently, it had begun developing an energy division, with interests in hydroelectric, wind power and oil sands.
