摘要

Dr Neil Williams says his passion for exploration began at an early age. The 2014 Haddon Forrester King Medal recipient and longest-serving chief executive of Geoscience Australia told Paydirt his "minerals quest" began during his formative years in Albury, New South Wales. "Where I grew up, the family home was just near a hill that's well known in Albury - Nail Can Hill - and just behind the hill were a few gold mines," Williams said. "As a kid we used to play around the mine and explore and I'd always have the hope of finding a gold nugget, but never did.
