Crowley joins funding round for onboard carbon capture start-up

ONBOARD CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE (OCCS) start-up Carbon Ridge Inc., Los Angeles, Calif., has raised $6 million in funding led by the Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, with additional investments from Crowley and Berge Bulk, as well as Rusheen Capital Management and Plug and Play Ventures. Carbon Ridge says its OCCS technology provides a low-cost and near-term solution to reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases emissions from commercial shipping by up to 95%.
