Alford West sends Adelaide rocketing

Adelaide Resources Ltd gave the entire SAREIC event a lift with its stellar performance on the ASX on day one of the conference, with the locally-based junior adding 400% to its share price on the back of encouraging copper intersections from its Alford West prospect on the Yorke Peninsula. The results included intercepts of 20m @ 4.2% copper and 0.27 g/t gold and 45m @ 1.55% copper and 1.81 g/t gold from Alford West, part of the company's wider Moonta copper-gold project, 120km east of Adelaide. The stock may have retreated some 30% by the end of the same week but the results were proof that investors could still be persuaded to part with their cash for compelling exploration stories.
