Botswana's mining sector recorded negative growth in the first quarter of 2012, the second consecutive period in which output has shrunk.Figures released by Statistics Botswana (SB) in July showed mining, which accounts for over a third of the national output, fell by 7.8% in the first quarter of 2012.However the decrease was an improvement when compared to the 16.1% drop recorded in the last quarter of 2011.
