Q Lars-Erik Ingerlo of the Swedish Aviation Historical Society seeks information and details on the Commonwealth Skyranger D-ELPU. A development of the pre-war Rearwin Sportster, the Skyranger was a casualty of the war, with the prototype flying in 1940 and Rearwin being reorganised into Commonwealth Aircraft during 1943. Production was limited to 276 examples, but Lars would like to know how and when 'LPU appeared on the German register, particularly as the post-war German civil listing only restarted in 1955. Perhaps a reader could provide the fate that befell this rare but interesting machine. The photograph was taken at Gustavsvik airfield, OErebro on 27 June 1964. Q Gerard Muir wonders if any readers have photographs of an Avro Lancaster - perhaps one of the white-painted Coastal Command examples - which was displayed behind Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery, possibly around 1947-48. Gerard recalls climbing through the fuselage, hugely exciting for a young boy, but would like to see a picture of the aircraft to prove it was there.
