Surplus Conveyors and Cove Engineering have come up with their own unique takes on how to make changing conveyor idlers easier. Both products have continued to develop a following and are drawing some attention from big players in the industry. Cove Engineering sales engineer Andrew Clark said the company was in discussions with Ludowici, with the possibility of Ludowici taking over global distribution of Coves Smart Frame idler system. At AIMEX Ludowici had a model of Coves Smart Frame idler system on its stand. Cove has conducted two commercial installations, one at the Port Kembla coal terminal and another at the Newlands coal mine in Queensland. Surplus Conveyors owner Corey Matters said his company had received some interest from Rio Tinto and the Granny Smith mine. The Surplus Conveyors system was trialled on a BHP Billiton mine and Matters said the company was saying it would take more. "We have manufacturing sorted out with Sino Steel Australia," he said.
