A method of digital speckle photography has been developed for the remote recording and determination of the displacement parameters of objects in an aqueous medium. This method is verified in experiments with a test object under closed-tank conditions. Vector diagrams are obtained that depict the mean velocities of an object. The dependence of the accuracy of the velocity-vector diagrams on the experimental parameters is discussed. (C) 2007 Optical Society of America.
