Palliative care interventions have been shown to improve outcomes when patients with serious illness and their caregivers have multiple visits with an interdisciplinary team of specialty-trained clinicians.1 In fact, this intensity of palliative care services, often referred to as ‘‘full-dose’’ palliative care, is increasingly understood as an important determinant of whether interventions are effective because interventions with lower intensity of services have not demonstrated benefits to patients and their caregivers.2,3
