Pyrolyx files for insolvency

Tire pyrolysis company Pyrolyx AC announced that it had started insolvency proceedings in December at Munich District Court. Last November, the recycled carbon black (rCB) manufacturer placed its Terre Haute, Indiana unit in the US into bankruptcy following a failure to raise capital for a major restructuring plan. The company had recently announced a five-year deal with Continental for the supply of up to lOktpa of rCB to the tire maker's facilities worldwide-an agreement expected to absorb over 3 million end-of-life tires.
