The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards has elected its leadership for 2022. Joy Rempe has been elected chair, Walter Kirchner vice chair, and David Petti member-at-large. All three have had 30-plus-year careers in the Rempe nuclear field, and all three are ANS members. Rempe, an ANS Fellow, retired from Idaho National Laboratory as a Laboratory Fellow. Kirchner most recently served as an institutional liaison manager for Argonne National Laboratory. Petti is an Emeritus Fellow at INL. Kym Harshaw has been selected as the new chief nuclear officer of STP Nuclear Operating Company. She has served as acting CNO since August. Prior to taking the CNO Harshaw position, Harshaw served as vice president of regulatory affairs and general counsel since joining the company in 2016. She has more than 26 years of experience in the nuclear industry.
