Mesocoelopus collaris Mulsant & Rey (Ptinidae) was first noted in Britain by JD, who beat large numbers of adults from ivy Hedera helix on 7 July 2006 whilst surveying brownfield land at Imperial Wharf, Fulham (TQ2676 VC 21, Middlesex). Later in the same year it was noted by MVLB on ivy growing on houses in Tynemouth Street, Fulham (also TQ2676). Further specimens collected on 4 June 2007 from Tynemouth Street were confirmed by Petr Zahradník (Prague) and exhibited at the 2008 British Entomological and Natural History Society (BENHS) exhibition (Barclay, 2009). In 2007 and 2008, adults were noted on several ivy plants on walls and houses in about a kilometre radius in south Fulham, including Bagleys Lane (TQ2576) and Rewell Street (TQ2677), suggesting it was already well established in the area. It was noted regularly in the area in subsequent years, the most recent records being 12 July 2019 and 4 June 2020 from the large ivy bush at Tynemouth Street.
