KOREA AEROSPACE Industries (KAI) is to test manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) technologies using a KUH-1 Surion helicopter, the Sacheon-based company revealed during the recent ADEX show in Seoul. KAI received Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration funding for the project, which will see the Surion operate and receive information from an unmanned system. The aim is to build a system that can control a drone from the helicopter. A KAI promotional video released during ADEX included a graphic showing the company's manned platforms, including the Light Armed Helicopter, being linked to an unmanned platform via a MUM-T system.
