Fenner exposes mobile splicing unit at M&E

Conveyor belt specialist Fenner Conveyor Services last month unveiled a new mobile belt-splicing unit at a regional mining show.Fenner said the unit, displayed at the Mining & Energy expo near Muswellbrook, New South Wales, would enhance the capability of its mobile splicing teams, which performed belt vulcanising work in underground coal mines as part of the company's "total conveyor maintenance" business approach.Purpose-built to transport conveyor belt splicing equipment -underground, the unit includes a full vulcaniser, all electricals and all splicing tools. It has already been used for underground -splicing at the Ulan longwall coal mine, near Mudgee in NSW.
