SINGAPORE'S Sembcorp Marine has already spent more than half of the S$1.5 billion (US$l.l billion) it raised during a rights issue last year. In late December, Sembmarine revealed it had got through a further quarter-of-a-billion Singapore dollars, taking the total remaining down to S$720 million in a matter of four months. The latest S$250 million spend included about S$150 million on a loan repayment while S$46 million went on employees' payroll and related expenses, S$45 million on sub-contractors' labour and S$9 million was spent on materials and equipment.
