AKER BP posted a net profit of $364 million for the fourth quarter of 2021 and $851 million for the full year, compared with $129 million in the corresponding quarter 2020 and $45 million over 2020 as a whole. The Norwegian independent also reported a record operating profit of $1.26 billion for the final quarter of 2021 on the back of higher petroleum prices. The company will be stepping up exploration activity with 13 wells, chasing unrisked volume potential estimated to be about 250 million barrels of oil equivalent net to the company. Last year, Aker BP participated in nine wells. It set out a number of project milestones planned for 2022, including first oil from Hod and Johan Sverdrup Phase 2.
