The Beaconsfield gold mine in northern Tasmania is slowly coming back to life after the fatal accident that closed it and made headlines around the world. In April, one year after the rockfall that killed miner Larry Knight and made heroes out of rescued workers Brant Webb and Todd Russell, Beaconsfield restarted gold production and relisted on the stock exchange. Colvin told Australia's Mining Monthly things were ramping up but it would be some months before the mine was back to full production. While targeting production of 100,000 ounces a year, Colvin said it safety would come first for Beaconsfield.
