Japan’s imports of petroleum coke in March fell by 34pc from a year earlier to 298,900t, as the country’s steel producers cut purchases with their reduced output. Petroleum coke imports from the US dropped by 36pc from a year earlier to 245,600t, according to customs data. Japan also cut purchases from Canada by 29pc to 49,500t. The falls outstripped a 2pc rise in Chinese supplies to 3,800t.
