Japanese producer Nippon Steel is postponing the restart of the No.3 blast furnace at its Nagoya plant because of weak steel demand in the country. Nippon Steel did not say when it would resume operations, following a reline to increase the blast furnace's capacity by 3pc to 4,425m~3. The company originally planned to restart the blast furnace after completing the reline in June.
