摘要

NGIA chief executive officer Robert Prince kicked off the morning session of the august Nursery and Garden Industry WA State conference with a comprehensive look at where pot levy funds were directed in the past year. "The focus of your levy at work has been to promote the benefits of greenlife, which is critical for the industry," he said. "With limited resources we've concentrated a lot of money into PR rather than direct marketing. For example, one strategy is to build on the 'Life is a Garden' message as a consumer brand." The rate at which awareness of environmental issues had soared was reflected in the way topics such as water quality and climate change were dominating the messages for industry, Mr Prince said. Among tools under development is a carbon footprint calculator for nurseries.
