South Korea lifted its intake of Australian and South African thermal coal in April in response to a reduction in Russian tonnage, stemming from sanctions led by the west, and a steep drop in Indonesian. The country’s thermal imports from Australia in April were up 31% on the month and tonnage from South Africa climbed 28%, while Russian was down 9% and Indonesian tumbled 28% on the month, according to the latest Korean customs data.
