A proposed three-day strike by various labour unions during 5-7 October could affect coal output at state-controlled producer Coal India (CIL), potentially increasing the prospect of additional imports. CIL is in receipt of a joint strike notice from central trade unions for a three-day strike from 5-7 October at the company and its subsidiary units, the Bombay Stock Exchange-listed coal producer said on 20 September. The unions are seeking the implementation of an earlier-agreed wage revision.
