THE adage that everything is for sale at the right price still rings true, especially if you happen to own a business in the thriving mining services sector. A number of providers to the mining industry have changed hands in the past 12 months. In many cases, owners, who built up their businesses from scratch, have succumbed to lucrative offers from bigger operators. In Perth, Leighton Holdings' HWE Mining snapped up Australian Mine Services. Engineering services group Ausenco has also been on the acquisition trail. It recently spent 117 million dollars on resources engineering companies Sandwell International and Vector Engineering.
