QR locos sail in

The first new locomotives in the multi-million dollar plan to boost Queensland Rail's coal fleet in Queensland's Goonyella system have landed. The two locomotives arrived at Brisbane wharves after their journey from Germany. They are part of QR's 650 million dollars new rolling stock project and will be put into service in the Goonyella rail system later this year. These locomotives are not part of the 1 billion dollar Goonyella to Abbot Point Expansion Project that QR mentioned in a March announcement. That announcement covered the signing of an alliance agreement for a key part of the contract.
