Western Australia's yogurt powerhouse

It's a tale as old as time - dairy farmers unhappy with the milk price go into manufacturing to help make ends meet. But while their path is familiar, it was Anne and Peter Hector's unique approach to business that turned Mundella Foods into a WesternAustralian yogurt giant. Mundella Foods is based in Mundijong, an outer suburb of Perth, about half an hour's drive south from the CBD. But as visitors make their way down a one-lane road, flanked by pasture and under the watchful gaze of Anne and PeterHector's cows, they could be forgiven for thinking they are in the countryside. In 1974, the Hectors were dairy farmers struggling under the WA quota system. Mundella CEO David Day tells the story.
