RESEARCH ON THE COORDINATED DEVELOPMENT OFECONOMY AND ENVIRONMENT IN JIANGSU PROVINCEBASED ON GREY RELATIONAL ANALYSIS

Under the current background of rapid social and economic development in China, people's tradi- tional production and lifestyles have been changed, and production efficiency has been significantly im- proved. However, more and more wastes are dis- charged in the actual production process, which greatly increases the natural burden of the environ- ment, making environmental pollution more and more serious. Environmental pollution has a nega- tive impact on people's health and life safety, andeven threatens the sustainable development of soci- ety and economy in the future. Jiangsu Province is currently in a critical period of transformation and development and deepening reforms, and is also in aperiod of high incidence of environmental incidents In order to become a province in the Yangtze River Delta Regional Economic Belt, it is of great signifi- cance to coordinate economic and environmental de- velopment, which lays an important foundation for the stable development of Jiangsu's economy. In this paper, Jiangsu Province in the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone is regarded as the research object. By combining the actual economic development of the province, the evaluation system of the economicsystem and the environmental system is established. and the method of combining quantitative and qual-itative methods is adopted. In the process of eco-nomic development, the relationship between multi- ple indicators and the environment is analyzed, andthe degree of coordinated development of the two is evaluated. The two economic indicators in the eco- nomic system of Jiangsu Province are the level of urbanization 13 and the proportion of secondary in- dustry in GDP. The correlation coefficients be- tween these two indicators and the ecological envi- ronment development are 0.75 and 0.74. respectively, indicating that they are closely related to the envi- ronment. Since 2017, the industrial structure of Jiangsu Province has gradually changed to the ter-tiary industry. From an environmental perspective, industrial smoke and industrial SO2 have been re- duced by 943,600 tons and 584,500 tons, respec- tively. At this stage, the ecological environment has been improved while economic strength has been improved, indicating that the province's economicdevelopment and the environment have a relatively obvious degree of correlation.
