US Proposes First Gulf Lease Sale for Wind

The US Department of the Interior has proposed what would be the fi rst-ever sale of acreage for offshore wind energy development inthe US Gulf of Mexico. The auction would follow a pair groundbreaking lease sales for offshore wind in the Atlantic and Pacifi c Oceans held over the last yearthat brought in billions of dollars in high bids and demonstrated strong interest in building out renewable power resources in the US.
