Iran-Azeri Gas Pipeline Nearly Ready

Iran is close to completing construction of a gas pipeline linking the Islamic republic with its northwestern neighbor Azerbaijan. The 150-kilometer pipeline will support a gas swap deal that also involves Iran's northeastern neighbor, Turkmenistan. The new line runs along the western coast of the Caspian Sea, connecting the Iranian city of Rasht with Chelavand just south of the border with Azerbaijan.
