Global Sustainable Arrangement on Aluminum

A joint letter, authored by Aluminum Association president, Charles Johnson, and European Aluminum director general, Paul Voss, was sent to U.S. trade representative, Kather-ine Tai, and EU executive vice-president and trade commissioner, Valdis Dombrovskis. The letter underscored the need for a global arrangement to address decarbonization and market behavior to support the aluminum industry on both sides of the Atlantic. It was hoped that the Global Sus-tainability Agreement (GSA) could be reached by October 2023.
