After a five-day crossing from the Falkland Islands, we finally sighted the snow-capped peaks and glaciers of South Georgia. Some of the happiest days of my life have been spent on this remote island in the Southern Ocean. Yet even here I've often been frustrated. Wildlife photography requires time with your subject. I have stood in awe in the company of wandering albatrosses, only to be dragged away after a few hours, mourning the photos I didn't get to take.
