'Bigger is better' could be the catch phrase for retailing in Asia - bigger stores, bigger ranges and bigger sizes. The rise of the hypermarket and what he described as "modern retail" was the subject of John Glover's presentation. Mr Glover, the director of John Glover & Associates, a retail consultancy based in Malaysia, has more than 30 years' experience in the international retail industry, including 12 years in Asia. Most recently, he was the director of buying and merchandising with Tops, which is owned by Royal Arhold.
