BP is planning on signiocantly increasing its capital spending in the US in the coming years with an eye toward boosting its natural gas and offshore output. The UK major said in its US Impact Report, published Wednesday, that it plans on spending $2.4 billion on its onshore oil and gas operations in the US, mostly in Texas. That marks a 41 increase from BP's 2022 budget and nearly 2.5 times what it spent in 2021. It will also be the company's highest spend in the US lower 48 since it began breaking out those operations in 2015.
